Aug 02, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter airline flyLAL charters has changed its brand name into Small Planet Airlines.
-The main catalyst for the rebranding was our international growth. The previous brand flyLAL was associated with scheduled flights, business travel and Lithuania, where as today our business strength is in charter flights in four European countries - Italy, Poland, Estonia and Lithuania, says Vytautas Kaikaris, Small Planet Airlines CEO.
The carrier plans to replace its current fleet of seven Boeing 737-300, four Boeing 737-500 and two Boeing 757-200 aircraft with Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, of which the first two will arrive in summer 2011.
Small Planet Airlines is part of Lithuanian aviation business group Avia Solution Group and provides full charter, ACMI and ad-hoc solutions to tour operators and airlines.
