Aug 05, 2010 (newstodate): Ryanair has now cast its eyes on the Bulgarian market.
From November 2, 2010, the carrier will launch flights between London and Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city.
The route will initially be served twice-weekly, and plans are on the table for new routes from Plovdiv to destinations in Spain and Italy.
With the new operator, Plovdiv Airport will develop from serving only summer charter traffic to full-year scheduled operations.
Plovdiv Airport has a 2,500m runway and a new terminal building opened on July 1, 2009.
