Aug 09, 2010 (newstodate): The Icelandic low-cost operator Iceland Express is reportedly planning to add Transatlantic flights from Keflavik to Boston and Chicago from summer 2011.
Plans are to offer four weekly rotations to Boston, while frequency on the new route to Chicago has not yet been announced.
Iceland Express launched Transatlantic flights to New York Newark Airport from June 1, 2010, offering four weekly rotations that will also be expanded to daily flights from June 2011.
Together with the announcement by Delta Air Lines to start flights from Minneapolis via New York to Keflavik, pressure is building up on Icelandair that has so far been alone in providing direct Transatlantic flights between USA and Iceland.
