Aug 11, 2010 (newstodate): As the Japanese carrier JAL cuts down on routes, fleet and staff, Finnair will benefit from en expanded code-share agreement between the two airlines.
Effective since August 1, 2010, JAL is codesharing on flights operated by Finnair between Helsinki and seven European cities including Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Brussels, Warsaw, and Gothenburg that has become the latest addition to JAL's European network covering 36 destinations in Europe.
JAL and Finnair first commenced codeshare flights in December 2005 and now offer passengers services on Finnair's three routes connecting Helsinki to Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai as well as Nagoya Chubu with a total of 20 weekly flights.
JAL's passengers can also travel on Finnair's routes connecting Helsinki with Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.
With this extended cooperation, the two oneworld alliance partners now offer codeshare services to a total of 13 destinations on 15 routes.
