Aug 03, 2010 (newstodate): In an effort to free capital, the Finnair Group has completed a sale arrangement with lease-back potentials for its two remaining MD-11 aircraft.
New owner of the aircraft is the US company Neff Air, Jim Neff's aircraft leasing company that will take delivery of the aircraft in January 2011.
Both aircraft served Finnair's passenger traffic since the early 1990's.
One of the aircraft has already been converted to freighter version, and the second MD-11 will be converted later this year.
Finnair is currently studying of dedicated MD-11 freighter
operations also beyond the end of the year, and one option is to continue the operations by leasing one or two of these aircraft.
