Aug 06, 2010 (newstodate): In its half-year report 2010, Finnair sets out its decisions on its aircraft fleet program.
As part of the harmonization of its fleet structure, Finnair withdrew from service three leased leisure-traffic Boeing 757-200 aircraft, ordered five new Airbus A321ER aircraft and extended the lease period of its four remaining Boeing 757 aircraft.
These remaining four Boeing 757 aircraft will be withdrawn in connection with the delivery of the new A321ER aircraft in 2013 and 2014.
In connection with the order, the orders for two long-haul aircraft planned for 2012-2013 will not take place in the form planned earlier.
Finnair Aircraft Finance also increased the number of Embraer E170 aircraft leased out from the Group from two to four by leasing in May two E170 aircraft to Kenya Airways on a four-year contract.
The Finnair group also decided to sell its two remaining MD-11 aircraft that will both serve as freighters and be leased back from its new owner.
