Aug 03, 2010 (newstodate): After the first half of 2010, Estonia's Tallinn Airport is facing almost a collapse of its air cargo volumes.
A total of 6,417 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled during January-June, 2010, representing a decline by 42.1 percent, y-o-y.
In June alone, the volumes were down by 63.6 percent, y-o-y, to 690 tonnes.
The decline gained momentum as the flow of trans-shipments from China via Tallinn Airport to Russia ceased after a clamp-down by the Russian customs.
