Aug 18, 2010 (newstodate): Israeli media has published news on the formation of a new airline alliance, proposed by El Al.
According to the report, El Al is seeking cooperation with Russia's UTAir, Armenia's Armavia and Ukraine's Aerosvit, intending to set up the world's 4th airline alliance alongside Star Alliance, oneworld, and Skyteam.
In a first reaction, Aerosvit has, however, denied any thoughts about teaming up with this or any other existing airline alliance.
El Al has reportedly stated its intentions to gather some 20 small and medium-sized airlines from Europe and other parts of the world in the planned alliance before the end of this year.
