Aug 05, 2010 (newstodate): Azerbaijan Airlines has placed an order with Boeing substituting the delivery of two Next-Generation 737 aircraft for one 767-300ER and two 767 freighter aircraft.
-With our centralized geographic location, Azerbaijan is becoming a busy hub in the region between east and west and north and south. We are capitalizing on this development by expanding our long-haul passenger fleet and growing our cargo business with a Boeing 767 Freighter, says Jahangir Askerov, Azerbaijan Airlines president.
With this latest order, Azerbaijan Airlines is planning the delivery of a total of eight Boeing aircraft, including two Boeing 767-300ER, two Boeing 767-300 Freighters, two Boeing 737-900ER and two Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The carrier already operates four Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
