Aug 31, 2010 (newstodate): Latest reports in Indian press says Air India is still considering three short-listed alternatives to Frankfurt as a future European hub.
The airport are Copenhagen, Dublin and Birmingham - all considerably more cost-efficient that Frankfurt Airport, the airline's existing European hub.
Reports, however, say that the decision will not be made hurriedly as Air India will first assess the potentials of the new T3 terminal at Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport which may make a European hub superfluous altogether.
To probe into this, Air India will now launch more international flights from T3, and frequencies will also go up on non-stop trans-Atlantic flights from Delhi to prove the efficiency of the new T3 concept.
