July 01, 2010 (newstodate): The new Norwegian carrier under formation, North Express, earlier named Norwegian Express is getting support from its prime regions.
Troms Fylke, a commune in the northern part of Norway, has reportedly decided to support the venture economically, promising to inject 1.6 mio Norwegian Kroner into the project.
It is not know exactly which form the support will take, but it must of course adhere to EU regulations on public financing of private businesses.
The money will reportedly flow into North Express once the financial details behind the carrier have been fully settled.
So far plans are to launch services with leased ATR42-500 aircraft from August 2010, provided all details including financial issues have been settled.
