July 09, 2010 (newstodate): Serbia's efforts to keep a national airline flying in the shadows of JAT's poor performance are undaunted.
As a first step in setting up a new carrier to split JAT from its current debts burden, the Serb state will call a tender for an international consultant to advise on the process.
The tender was expected already by the end of June - but due to lack of financial means it is still pending.
The tender is, however, due for opening any time soon, sources say.
Besides being relieved of the debts to be taken over by the state, the planned new carrier will differ from the existing national airline by its name - JAT, rather than JAT Airways..!
