July 07, 2010 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo's management can start summer holidays in high spirits after the encouraging cargo figures in 2010.
In June, 2010, Finnair Cargo handled a total of 11,128 tonnes of cargo - an impressive growth by 54 percent, y-o-y.
The Asian volumes boomed again, rising 31.2 percent to 6,312 tonnes, but European traffic was also up by 33.8 percent to 2,013 tonnes.
New in the statistics is also the freighter volumes that accrued to 1,852 tonnes.
For the first half of 2010, total volumes are up 33.9 percent, y-o-y, to 54,534 tonnes, with the Asian volumes serving as the main driver with 35,295 tonnes - an increase by 35.7 percent.
Finnair Cargo launched MD-11F cargo services from May 12, 2010, with two weekly rotations between Helsinki and Hong Kong, Seoul, respectively, and is now mulling plans for introducing a further rotation to a yet-unpublished destination in Asia.
