July 02, 2010 (newstodate): Bosnia-Herzegovina's Sarajevo airport is to expand its passenger terminal - and a Dutch company has won the tender.
NACO has been awarded the assignment to develop the final design for the terminal expansion at Sarajevo International Airport.
While the airport is still functioning effectively, capacity constraints are starting to emerge, security and duty free facilities need to be expanded and the terminal needs to be configured to prepare for Bosnia's inception into the Schengen zone.
The design of the terminal expansion will be funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development through a dedicated contribution from the Netherlands Technical Cooperation Fund.
Ten years ago, NACO was also responsible for the completion of the planning, design and construction supervision of the terminal rehabilitation.
