Jun 08, 2010 (newstodate): While air cargo is still limited in volumes in Uzbekistan, the trend is strongly positive in 2010.
According to state statistics, a total of 6,600 tonnes of air cargo was handled in the period January-March 2010 - an increase by 270 percent, y-o-y.
The growth is especially reflecting the growth of operations at the country's Navoi Logistics Center, a JV between Uzbekistan and Korea.
As part of the cooperation between the two parties, Korean Air has allocated two Airbus A300-600F aircraft to Uzbekistan Airways, now used on routes to Europe and Asia.
