Jun 04, 2010 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is seeing brisk business in Latvia and is keen to increase frequency on the route between Riga and Istanbul.
THY has been operating the route since April 19, 2006, initially with three and later expanding to four weekly rotations - but the airline would like to double the number of flights.
This will, however, require a positive result from negotiations with the Latvian authorities, still pending.
Flights between Riga and Istanbul were launched first by the Latvian carrier airBaltic from March 1, 2005, and the carrier is now offering daily services with Boeing 737 aircraft.
On the cargo side, THY is served by Kales Airline Services as its cargo GSSA for Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
