Jun 02, 2010 (newstodate): The Swedish postal carrier Amapola Flyg has named its new top executive to replace Jan Palmer, retiring after 20 years of service, as CEO.
New in the position will be Lars Jordahn, who comes from positions within DHL Express, last serving as DHL Express Sweden managing director and earlier holding various top posts within DHL Express - including the management of DHL's former Nordic Hub at Copenhagen Airport during the 90'ies.
The carrier operates a fleet comprising 11 converted Fokker 50 aircraft in addition to various chartered freight aircraft serving Post Sweden's air transport needs.
Amapola is also one of five companies contracted by the Swedish Armed Forces to assist with contracting cargo operators for uplift of military transports.
Amapola was set up in 2004 when Post Sweden ceased to operate its own mail air transport carrier, Falcon Air.
