Jun 10, 2010 (newstodate): Air traffic between Stockholm and Vilnius in Lithuania will come to an end from July 2, 2010, when the Swedish carrier Skyways will pull out from the route.
The route is currently served once daily with a Fokker 50 aircraft leased from Avia Express.
The service was launched in May 2009 by Skyways that had big ambitions for opening up more routes from Vilnius to fill the void after the demise of the Lithuanian national carrier flyLAL.
The plans, now aborted, included flights from Vilnius to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin and other major European destinations.
