Jun 23, 2010 (newstodate): After the certification of its engines, expected shortly now, Sukhoi can now hope for final certification by the Russian authorities of the Superjet 100 aircraft by November, 2010.
After that follows the eventual EASA certification, and the aircraft can then be launched for commercial operations.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 has received 122 firm orders, and the first delivery to its launch customer Aeroflot will be by the end of 2010.
Delivery of a second Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft to Armavia Airline will take place shortly thereafter.
Armavia was earlier slated to receive the first aircraft, but chose to take second place due to the repeated delays in the program that made the latest, revised delivery date less attractive.
Four Superjet 100 aircraft are now involved in the flight test program, while 14 ramp-up production aircraft are in production in various readiness stages.
