Jun 15, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian privately-owned carrier Transaero has taken delivery of yet another Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
The new aircraft is the 12th Boeing 747 aircraft in the carrier's long haul fleet that is the largest in Russia, CIS and East European regions.
The new aircraft is one of 10 Boeing 747-400 aircraft to be delivered to the carrier on a lease contract signed in April this year.
Transaero became the first Russian/CIS carrier to introduce the Boeing 747, signing a leasing contract in spring 2005 for four ex-Virgin Atlantic Boeing that joined the fleet by mid-summer 2005.
As the Boeing 747-400 enters the fleet, the Boeing 747-200 aircraft will be converted into freighters to boost the carrier's cargo capacity.
