Jun 02, 2010 (newstodate): Serbia will open a new airport for commercial flights before the end of 2010.
Kraljevo-Ladevci Airport, so far a military air force base in the country's industrial region Krajelvo Municipality, is amidst a major reconstruction process aiming at bringing it up to modern standards allowing for handling of airline traffic.
The projects costs at around 30 mio euro have been financed by the Serbia state and Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
The airport's existing 2,200 m runway has been broadened extended to 2,750 m, a new ATC toer has been built as well as a new passenger terminal.
Kraljevo-Ladevci Airport is ideally located to serve the industrial community's need for passenger and cargo traffic into Central Serbia.
