Jun 23, 2010 (newstodate): The Lithuanian airline Avion Express is again operating flights between Oslo to Bergen, Norway, on behalf of Bridges Worldwide, an international network solutions provider.
Avion Express, based at Vilnius, operates a fleet comprising four SAAB 340 aircraft, including three SAAB 340 aircraft in freighter versions and one SAAB 340 passenger aircraft.
Besides the aircraft serving the Oslo-Bergen operation, Avion Express has a second Saab 340 based in Oslo, operating a service between several Norwegian and Swedish cities on behalf of TNT on a contract landed in 2009.
Avion Express also operates a scheduled passenger service from Kramfors/Sollefteaa in northern Sweden to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, introduced in September 2009.
The flight is a stop-over on the Storuman-Arlanda route introduced in January 2009.
In September 2009, Avion Express also secured a one-year extension of its contract with Royal Mail in Scotland on behalf of Loganair, operating from Inverness to Stornoway and Benbecula.
Formerly named Nordic Solutions, the company was taken over in 2008 by the Icelandic Avion Group when the owners of in-night logistics provider Nordic Solutions went bankrupt.
