Jun 08, 2010 (newstodate): Lithuania's Kaunas Airport is seeing its cargo volumes up in 2010.
A total of 343 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport in May 2010, an increase by 284 percent, y-o-y.
Totals included 123 tonnes of mail and 220 tonnes of cargo.
This brings the total during the first five months of 2010 to 1,393 tonnes .
The airport handled a total of 2,119 tonnes of cargo in 209, so it is heading for a very positive result this year.
The airport's cargo volumes are primarily generated by TNT and UPS, and TNT recently upgraded its services from SAAB 340 to AN-26 freighters.
