A total of 919 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled in May 2010, marking an increase by 27.2 percent, y-o-y.
Total include 527 tonnes of cargo, up 37 percent, and 382 tonnes of mail, up 15.8 percent, y-o-y.
During the first five months of this year, Riga Airport thus handled 4,466 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 27.5 percent, y-o-y.
Exports, 1,841 tonnes, increased by 33.2 percent, while imports rose 23.4 percent, y-o-y.
Latvian carrier airBaltic dominates the airport's cargo business scene, generating 67 percent of the total volumes in May.
