Jun 29, 2010 (newstodate): Garuda Indonesia is back in Europe after a lapse of six years after being banned in EU markets for lack of compliance with air safety standards.
First European destination from Jakarta via Dubai is Amsterdam, now online by Garuda with a daily Airbus A330-200 flight expected to generate around 5,200 tonnes of freight a year for the airline.
Among the markets in the focus by Garuda Indonesia is Scandinavia, according to a press release from ECS, the carrier's designated European GSA.
Representing ECS in Scandinavia is its partner, Universal GSA, with HQ in Stockholm, Sweden.
Over the coming years, Garuda plans to add flights also to Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome.
