Jun 21, 2010 (newstodate): Carefully watching the improvements in the market for especially Asian air cargo, Finnair Cargo has now implemented a segmentation of its product portfolio.
The production has been segmented into First, Business and Economy, with First and Business dedicated to freight forwarders only, offering Economy to private customers.
The Business product serves as the base-line - normal airfreight without changes in the existing processes, while First will offer fast transport on next available flight with confirmed and high priority status.
First also includes priority booking service and handling in Helsinki, as well as a money-back guarantee if failing to meet standards.
Economy comprises stand-by cargo with flexible transport schedule of seven days from acceptance to transport, but without a refund guarantee.
Economy is only available from Finland and Sweden.
Officially launched from May 1, 2010, the new segmented products are still only available for customers' exports out of Helsinki.
In the next phase, Finnair Cargo will expand the product portfolio to comprise also import cargo, while transit cargo will round-off the process.
