Jun 30, 2010 (newstodate): Hopes are running high in Estonia over prospects of seeing Turkish Airlines opening flights from Istanbul to Tallinn, Estonia.
The carrier earlier announced plans for opening 15 to 20 new destinations in the next two-three years - and a flight to Tallinn has expressly been singled out.
In a press report from 2009, a high-ranking Turkish Airline representative named the expected new destinations in Europe to include Bologna in Italy, Glasgow in the UK, Podgorica in Montenegro, Tallinn in Estonia, Bratislava in Slovakia, and Vilnius in Lithuania.
Plans would call for the opening of services to these new destinations to take place by 2012.
Since then, THY has announced the opening of flights to Podgorica from July 8, 2010, flights to Bologna were launched from March 1, 2010, which proves the intentions to actually live up to words.
So far, 105 Estonian fans are supporting the project on facebook!
