Jun 10, 2010 (newstodate): The Czech airport at Karlovy Vary has contracted Lufthansa Consulting to provide support in building more air traffic.
In 2009 the airport registered almost 70,000 passengers, mostly on flights to and from the Russian Federation.
The number of aircraft movements reached 7,632 take-offs and landings, up 37 percent, compared to 2008.
In recent years, the airport has been modernized including the reconstruction of the existing runway as well as the construction of a completely new terminal building.
Under the contract Lufthansa Consulting will provide an in-depth market analysis with the selection of ten prospective European hub airports and a route profitability evaluation for the hub with the best possible potential.
The German aviation consultants will also support Karlovy Vary in conducting acquisition talks with relevant airports plus assistance with negotiations at international aviation conferences.
In addition, Lufthansa Consulting will also actively assist with the creation of a local marketing fund.
