Jun 10, 2010 (newstodate): With the recent opening by the Russian carrier AirBridgeCargo of freighter flights from Malmo, Sweden now has 11 weekly freighter services from various airports.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport tops the list with five weekly freighter operations, including two weekly flights to Seoul, South Korea, by Asiana, and three weekly flights by Emirates to Hong Kong via Dubai.
Second comes Stockholm Arlanda Airport that has four weekly freighter flights including two weekly flights by Korean Air Cargo to Seoul, one weekly flight by China Airlines Cargo to Taipei, Taiwan, and one weekly freighter flight by Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong.
The latest addition, then, is AirBridgeCargo's twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter services from Malmo Sturup Airport, in southernmost Sweden, to Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow from April 2010, connecting to onward flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Tokyo.
