May 20, 2010 (newstodate): Polish carrier LOT has now set June 28, 2010, as the date for its return of services to Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave by the Baltic Sea.
LOT will offer six weekly rotations on the route between Warsaw ans Kaliningrad, using Embraer aircraft.
LOT originally planned to re-open the route last autumn, but the economic crisis pushed back ambitions.
In September 2008 LOT suspended services since 2002 because of unsatisfactory loads on the route.
But the general development around Kaliningrad after the demise of KD Avia prompted the carrier to come back again.
Since June 29, 2005, LOT has operated a road feeder service between Warsaw and Kaliningrad under a contract with the privately-owned Kaliningrad-Cargo, managed by Alex Korytny.
