May 12, 2010 (newstodate): Russia is keen to develop its business in providing technical fuel stop services for foreign cargo carriers en-route between Asia and Europe.
As part of the effort, Russia's Anti-monopoly Agency has urged airports to considering lowering the charges for cargo aircraft technical stop services, as separate from handling charges for freighters operating with commercial rights to load, unload and change cargo.
The Agency also urges airports to publish their rates scheme for freighter technical stop services, including any special discount schemes and fueling charges.
The Agency sees more freighter technical stop handling as a means of lowering handling charges for passenger aircraft and freighters with commercial rights, leading to more international traffic through Russian airports.
