Apr 06, 2010 (newstodate): Lithuania's Palanga Airport is welcoming the news of the accreditation of Interekspresas as its first Regulated Agent.
-We have so far had only very limited airfreight, and no export airfreight, at Palanga Airport despite the fact that potentials are rather promising, says the airport director.
-Situated close to the large Baltic port of Palanga there is a significant demand for air cargo, primarily driven by the needs of the maritime industry and related businesses. Ships spares is one very important commodity that has so far constituted an inaccessible market for us.
-As air traffic at Palanga Airport is performed with small aircraft from SAS and airBaltic, offering little uplift capacity, the air cargo development will primarily consist of airline trucking, but even so I see a promising development ahead, says the airport director.
