May 26, 2010 (newstodate): Iraq Airways' resurrection after a period of 20 years of flights on the route between Baghdad and London proved a short-lived success.
From the start of May the route was operated via Stockholm, Sweden, using a Boeing 737-400 aircraft operated for Iraq Airways by the Swedish provider Tor Air on an ACMI-contract.
Flights are now, however, suspended again reportedly due to quarrels with Kuwait over compensation for aircraft plundered during the 1991 Gulf War.
