May 04, 2010 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has now taken delivery of its first ex-factory Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NG aircraft.
The first delivery was originally planned for November, 2009, but issues including re-financing delayed the process.
The carrier plans to have all eight Dash 8 aircraft in its fleet by October - in time for the start of the 2010/11 winter schedule.
The new aircraft will be put into operation on medium-range routes, and they will be operated alongside the Fokker 50 aircraft that will be phased out from 2013.
