May 10, 2010 (newstodate): In cooperation with Aerosim Technologies, the Kazakh carrier Air Astana has established a pilot training centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Air Astana is thus the first airline from Asia or Europe to acquire Aerosim's Enhanced Virtual Procedures Trainer for training and developing flight operations of Airbus A320 pilots.
The new training centre is also adding an additional training module for the Boeing 757 and 767 pilot training, and in 2011 the centre will add the capability to train pilots for Embraer E-190.
In addition to saving huge costs for the airline in pilot training, Air Astana will also be able to offer its training facilities to external customer airlines.
