May 31, 2010 (newstodate): The parties behind the construction of a new passenger terminal at Latvia's Riga Airport will soon reveal details on their plans for strengthening of the airport as North Hub Riga.
airBaltic has called participants to a new international aviation conference under the title North Hub Riga, to be held at Riga on June 9, 2010.
Keynote speaker will be Latvia's minister of transport, and Lithuania's minister of transport will also speak on aviation and European transport policies.
Other topics include presentations by Airbus, the EU Commission and several airlines as well as TAV Airport Holding that will partner with airBaltic in financing and construction of the new terminal at Riga Airport.
Also presenting itself will be North Hub Services that is expanding into neighboring markets already in its first year of operations after its launch at Riga Airport from the start of 2010.
