May 26. 2010 (newstodate): Lack of aircraft capacity is still grounding Sundt Atlanta Skybridge, the North Atlantic freighter service from Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Services to New York and Miami have been suspended since since March 17, 2010, as the Boeing 747-200F was deployed by its owner, Air Atlanta Icelandic, to other ACMI assignments.
-The global ACMI market is currently so over-heated that it has become extremely difficult to find a suitable aircraft for meet our demands, says Arild Jaabaek, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge CEO.
-We need a reliable long-term solution to match our needs. We can live wıth ad-hoc solutions for brief periods but eventually we must have a solid foundation for our company, and thus we spend all our resources on identifying a new ACMI provider with the right aircraft.
-The Norwegian fish export industry is in dire needs for uplift capacity, further exacerbated by the ongoing BA strike in the UK, says Mr Jaabaek.
