May 14, 2010 (newstodate): Despite problems with meeting the sales conditions, Germany's Parchim International Airport under Chinese ownership is seeing volumes up in 2010.
The airport handled a total of 2,390 tonnes of cargo during January-April 2010, compared to 1,947 tonnes during the same period in 2009, and plans are still to develop the airport into a cargo hub serving the Europe-Asia traffic.
Financially, the new owner, he Chinese logistics company LinkGlobal Logistics, has however not delivered.
The German Landkreis has just decided to write down LinkGlobal's debts from overdue sales payments by two-thirds.
