May 27, 2010 (newstodate): Member of the SAS Group, the Finnish carrier Blue1 has decided on its future aircraft fleet, opting for Boeing 717-200 aircraft.
In the fleet now are five 166-seats MD-90 aircraft, deemed too large to provide adequate services to the core business segment in Finland.
-Plans are to take in nine 120-seats Boeing 717-200 aircraft for delivery before February/March 2010, with another nine aircraft to be delivered by 2011, says Tom Christides, Blue1 VP Corporate Communication
