Apr 14, 2010 (newstodate): The coming new US airline to offer Transatlantic flights to Europe, Baltia Air Lines has taken a further step towards opening flights from USA to Russia.
The carrier has now signed a lease agreement for office space at St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport, following on the recent signing of fuel and cargo agreements with the airport.
No launch date has yet been announced, but the start of operations is now expected before the end of this year.
The start-up carrier took delivery of its first Boeing 747 aircraft in November 2009 after signing an engine lease agreement with Logistic Air in January 2010, providing a power-by-the-hour solution to its needs for compulsion.
