Apr 12, 2010 (newstodate): New carrier Air Sweden, launching business in 2010, is targeting the ethnic air transport market between Scandinavia and Iraq.
The carrier has taken delivery of an ex-Alitalia MD-82 aircraft and will offer direct, non-stop flights from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Erbil and Sulimaniya.
Behind the carrier, managed by Daniel Lundberg as CEO, is a group of Swedish investors.
"Air Sweden" was earlier the name of a short-lived airline in the charter segment, operating from 1991 to 1993.
