Apr 20, 2010 (newstodate): The Russian carrier UTAir is planning for a major fleet modernisation and expansion.
The airline will add 49 aircraft and 15 rotary-wing aircraft during 2010-12, currently operating a total of 120 aircraft and 215 helicopters of various types and sizes.
UTAir is actually the world's largest operator of rotary-wing aircraft and derived a substantial part of its total revenues from this traffic that includes contract with many intentional organizations and companies.
Beginning in 2010, UTAir will take delivery of the first of 20 ATR 42 and 72 aircraft as well as 14 Boeing 737-500 aircraft that will take its Boeing 737 fleet to a total of 30 units on an operational lease contract with Boeing.
Also in the plans are delivery of 13 CRJ-200 aircraft.
