Apr 27, 2010 (newstodate): The future for the North Atlantic freighter service, currently suspended, at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge is under consideration.
-The start will rather be by mid-May, as we have not managed to secure the aircraft needed in time, Arild Jaabaek, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge CEO, told newstodate on Monday.
And this is further corroborated by Air Atlanta Icelandic, one of the partners in the JV and so far provider of the Boeing 747-200 freighter serving the route.
-We are currently evaluating the strategy, and going through all options, says a source within the company.
From December 5, 2009, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge was offering two weekly rotations from Oslo to New York and Miami, returning to Oslo via Amsterdam, but services have been suspended since March 17, 2010, and the aircraft was deployed by its owner to other assignments.
