Apr 26, 2010 (newstodate): Pending final approvals from Slovakia's CAA, the new carrier Air Explore will perform its first flight around June 1, 2010.
Air Explore has been set up by a group of former Seagle Air und Air Slovakia employees, and heading the new carrier will be Martin Stulajter as CEO and co-owner.
-Our business model will be ACMI and charter operations, aiming at long-term contracts with customers, says Martin Stulajter.
-We are currently working to obtain our AOC after having handed in the required documentation, crews and maintenance organization are in place, and our first operations will be from Verona, Italy, flying charter passengers to various leisure destinations.
-We will take in our first ex-SN Brussels Boeing 737-400 aircraft by mid-May, and plans are to expand further to a fleet of two or three such aircraft as warranted by the market situation.
-Slovakia has lately seen the demise of several carriers, but there is really no single joint explanation behind their fates. It is, however, safe to assume that there is a void in the market now, and we are ready to move in to exploit this business opportunity.
-Our asset is that we are new to the market and starts from a flat Zero without accumulation of any historic debts, says Mr Stulajter.
