Apr 14, 2010 (newstodate): Japan Airlines is heading towards a deep cut in its international route network due to the carrier's miserable financial situation.
Japanese media have published the proposals on network reductions by the Japanese government, held against similar proposals by the carrier itself.
If carried through, the government proposes the cancellation of flights from Tokyo Narita Airport to European destinations Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Milan, Rome, and Moscow, and from Osaka to London as well as from Nagoya to Paris.
JAL's proposals do not support the cancellation of flights to Frankfurt and Moscow.
Besides both the state and JAL propose a large number of cancellations of Asian routes.
