Apr 09, 2010 (newstodate): Finnair is seeing an over-all hike in its Asian traffic, and the routes between Finland and India are no exception.
Finnair operates six weekly flights between Helsinki and Delhi, and the passenger load factor has risen from 84 percent in February, 2010, to all-time high levels at 91 percent in March, 2010, sources say.
Finnair started operations to Delhi, India, from November 1, 2006, adding flights to Mumbai on June 26, 2007, and was considering opening a third Indian destination, Bangalore or Chennai, by the end of 2008 when the global financial crisis hit the aviation business.
Flights to Mumbai were seasonally suspended early in 2009, but were never reactivated despite plans for re-opening operations from winter 2009.
