Apr 28, 2010 (newstodate): Finnair now confirms that its freighter operations between Europe and destination in the Far East will be launched in May, 2010.
-The company still owns two MD-11 aircraft, of which one has been converted into a freighter. The intention is to begin cargo operations with this aircraft from Asia in May, the company states in its Finnair Group Interim Report 1 January-31 March 2010.
-The other MD-11 will fly charter flights in the summer and will also be converted into a cargo aircraft in the autumn.
An announcement on the launch of the coming freighter service and the destinations to be served is now awaited shortly.
