Apr 23, 2010 (newstodate): Talks between the Estonian state and SAS over the carrier's stake in Estonian Air are reportedly entering the final stage.
Several sources indicate that an announcement is around the corner, comprising the take-over by the Estonian state of SAS' current stake of 49 percent of the shares in Estonian Air resulting in a state ownership of 83 percent of the airline.
The remaining 17 percent are still owned by the Estonian investment bank AS Cresco.
As earlier reported by newstodate, Estonian Air sees the final solution to its ownership structure as the crucial precondition for future development and delivery of the three ex-factory CRJ900 NextGen aircraft delayed for almost a year due to the uncertainty.
