Mar 19, 2010 (newstodate): Kosovo has announced three participants as shortlisted for participating in the tender for privatisation of its only commercial service airport, Prishtina International Airport.
The three finalists are Bouyges Batiment/Egis/Eurokoha-PAIC Consortium, Fraport IC/ICTAS Havalimani Isletme A.S, and Limak/Aeroport de Lyon Consortium.
The deadline for submission of final proposals for the concession of Prishtina Airport is April 15, 2010, and the winner will land the contract to join in the ownership and management of the airport for the coming 20 years.
The project will a be design-build-finance-operate-transfer agreement comprising management, operation, and maintenance of Prishtina International Airport and the financing, design, procurement and construction of a program for expansion of infrastructure, which includes the building of a new 25,000 sq m terminal, air traffic control facilities, new apron, taxiways, water treatment facility, and parking areas.
