Mar 02, 2010 (newstodate): SAS is in talks with Estonia's government over a plan to sell its 49 percent stake in Estonian Air - but so far no break-through has been announced.
-The Estonian Government wants to go full speed ahead, but no success is seen, says a source close to the negotiations.
Until 2008, SAS was still interested in taking over a further 17 percent of the shares to gain the full control in Estonian Air, but as the government rejected the proposal, SAS decided instead to pull out entirely from ownership in the Estonian carrier.
The Estonian state has since aired its intentions to buy SAS' shares but these negotiations are still drawing out.
SAS took over the stake in Estonian Air from Maersk Air in 2003.
